Nathan knew the staircase, it was part of a hotel, the warehouse belonged to it. In the old days, there would have been hundreds of people staying here, the lobby full of light and noises of the mundane doing whatever it was they did. Nathan was never part of that world, he was born in the shadow world, the world that keeps to the darkness of Blackwood. Sometimes he has bitter feelings about it, wondering if he could have had a better life, but then he remembers that his life is not so bad. After all he is a Wizard. Sammy moves carefully, in step with the Vacant, as he drifts casually in the darkness. Roth Smiles, he knows if the cat is near, so is that meddlesome Wizard. "Maybe" He thinks, he will get the proverbial two birds with one stone. He stops and looks back into the darkness with a pleasant smile, it makes Sammy's purr rumble with fear. "Come along little kitty." He whispers. Sammy did not hear him, but she slowed her pace just the same, falling a little further back. She heard the faint laughter of the others in the front of the warehouse and wishes that she had stay with them. Hope you like the story and image.
