Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Fantastic set of photos Andrea. I've yet to brave an up-load as nothing about this site works any more :(

Right click on the image. In popup, click on open in new window. Click magnifying glass on image in new window. And there's your large image. You can even save it to disk without that obstructive Flash getting in the way! Took me a good while to discover this. I can even see the fuzz on the moth (doesn't it ever shave?).
Keep up the good work!
:-)

Thankyou for those instructions! Brilliant.

A wonderful series. Your little person seems quite comfortable in your hand. No surprise there. T.Rex' instructions worked perfectly. If you locate your avatar in the navigation bar at the very top of the screen you can avoid having to search for your favorite artists. Directly to the right of the avatar is something titled 'Activity Feed'. Click on that and all posts we used to get by ebot are listed there.

Wonderful series! I tried Michael's directions too, and they worked just as advertised. :)

Congratulations, you have made an upload. To me this has not yet succeeded. After the upload the image can not be seen and I don't know why. Maybe I'll try it again. Your collage is super, fantastic details.

Very nice series of images, Andrea. I like the new 'open full image' link. I've never made albums but still great to see your images.

A super series Andrea. Very lovely shots :-) I can now see my albums and I have tried to edit older shots to them. It works but very slowly. Take hours or more, before they appeare in the album, if they were in another album before. And I have no intention to add all my older uploade to albume one by one by using the edit function. I am too old for that. Would be dead long before I finnsih lol. They really need to make a function like in Flickr.

Wowsie, this is amazing , Andrea, I love that last one with the open wings so much. I've seen this moth seldom while it's showing the orange. Great Series!!! I don't understand the instructions T.Rex wrote. I think he is telling you how to see the bigger then full size. That's easy, just two x click on the image then you get that very big one in a new window automatically. As about the albums: I've figger out that if you first do a preview with your new upload, and then click on EDIT, the album selection works, (strange, but true). And then, don't forget to a new set a 'v' on : the image is your own property (or something like that ;-))

Nice close-up I've been rescuing these from the conservatory although I haven't a clue how they get in.
