Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A real old-fashioned spot, no fancy atmosphere or decor. You should see the place I have been going (I just found a better one, so I won't be going back to the super-expensive trendy spot!) I can almost smell the perm chemicals and styling products...great shot!

They look to be in a frame of mind Andrea !! Nicely captured and a great candid.

A shop design that apparently crosses many borders and could be near here. I've cut my own hair for years. Nice candid shot!

I will say PAIN. It is always a pain for me to go to hair dresser. I hate it. Super shot here :-D

A fun shot - I like the abstract frame effect...

I agree -- And a Royal Pain at That !
Like you a dry hair cut, no fuss no muss, but very expensive !
Fantastic pic. and great post work Andrea.

A wonderful candid shot in what appears to be an old fashioned hair salon. They don't look especially happy but I suppose that could just be them concentrating on their reading. Been bald since 21 and have cut what's left myself for the last 40 years. Once at a staff meeting a co-worker came in late, pulled off her coat and hat and sat down next me. She began fussing with her hair muttering, "I hate hat hair!" I muttered back, "I wish I had hat hair." Biggest workplace laugh I ever got.

Great idea using the mirror! Little did they know...:)

I haven't seen a hair dryer like that in ages! They're unbearable. Much too hot. I let them wet my hair to cut it, but refuse any and all "product." I don't mind a blow dryer after a cut, because it gets rid of a lot of little pokey hairs. First thing I do when I get home is take a shower and wash it anyway, so I don't put my eye out with a stray quarter inch of hair! LOL!

Didn't realise they still had those sort of driers :o)))

This reminds me I must get a haircut.
