Description
Captured 8/11/15 @ 8:36 am, within the general confines of the neighborhood.
I have captured and posted other sunflowers, of different varieties, from this front lawn garden patch when they were in top notch form, but when I revisited the site yesterday, I found it completely withered due to our extreme heat, and lack of watering. 102-Fahrenheit/39-Celsius degrees in my patio today.

What a beauty of a flowerhead! Excellent shot, Harry; our lawns and gardens are brown and withered too, and lake levels are at record lows.

A big beauty Harry. Years ago we were driving all afternoon through huge fields of sunflowers in North Dakota. It was fascinating to watch them turn to stay facing the sun over a period of several hours.

Such a gorgeous sunflower and too bad it's withered now. You are hotter right now in CA than we are in TX! Stay cool and well.
