Description

Of all the lovely springtime pollinators that visited the bush outside my front door - bees, hoverflies, moths, butterfiles, my favorite is still the rarely-seen (and first time ever for me) Honey-Bellied Sweat Bee (Agapostemon melliventris). I hope they come back next spring. (thanks for answering my questions on my last post about the new site changes, and for those who asked, the ocean sunset was in WA state). Thanks very much for looking and for your kind comments.

There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees in seven to nine recognized families. Bee-cause of your exquisite macros of these industrious insects, Maria, I really like your varied collection of these handsome pollinators. And it does look like two of them going at it belly to belly.
