Photo taken by me aboard a Kc 135 Tanker Refueling B-52 Bomber over the Grand Canyon circa 1977 KODAK INSTAMATIC 100 Camera Type: viewfinder film camera Manufacturer: Kodak Production Dates: March 1963 - 1966 Film: 126 film cartridge Lens: 43mm f/11 Image: nominal 26×26mm (hence 126), actual 29×28mm, masked to 26½×26½mm for printing Shutter: mechanical leaf, 1/90 sec. and 1/40 sec. with flash popped up

great capture for a cheapo camera, "but not cheap way back when". I used to watch the B-52's doing approaches/takeoff/landing at Carswell AFB. enjoyed every minute of it

Impressive. And done at speed. An interesting point here - the B-52 wing gradually bending upwards towards the outer engine pair. That means weight!

That's an awesome view from the tail end of the KC135! Washing the windshield might be a bit of a challenge, though... Great shot!

I was in the USAF myself; 1968 - 1972. Never had a view like this, though.

When the Boomer would pull away the windows would get sprayed with JP 4 jet fuel that should take care of any bugs or grime.I was a radar mechanic along for a ride.
