Description
We're back to school,
But, as the successors of the first terrorists ( French Reign of Terror ) commemorate only what arranges their secularism, they forget deliberately what/who did the Greatness of what they waste, without any scruple: the notion of State and the high opinion of the Nation. Without forgetting the social contract under divine auspices...
So, to correct this disregard, please allow me to commemorate a tercentenary. Once upon a time, 300 years ago, on September the 1st, 1715, Louis XIV - Sun King ☀ - dead in his bed, in the Palace of Versailles : the heirs of the "sans-culotte" like it or not .
Heirs who are now offering to the World, the values of corruption and dishonest compromise...
Indeed, from now on, the possibility is offered to every trader who did some fortune, every bankster, every lobby, to be above the laws, of the State.
And sometimes, I begin to dream about a sun rise, a "sol invictus", a sun being reborn under Charlotte Cordays look alike...Ohm... Ohm...
French republicans, we the people, we don't thank you for this disregard as We're back to school! Shame on you...
Cheers.

R.I.P. ✝Sun King and if you're in the same Heaven's classroom, our thanks to you, Your Majesty, please say hello to Pasquale de Paoli, "U Babbu di a Patria".
P.S. 1 The pic above is a Public Domain work of art. In 1701 Louis XIV commissioned from Hyacinthe Rigaud a copy of the portrait. This portrait, Louis XIV (oil on canvas; 2.05 x 1.52 m), is on display in the Apollo Salon of the Château de Versailles, Grand Apartment.
P.S. 2 Waiting for a new keyboard to model and to be back soon joking with you my friends, hope you're all fine ! Cheers.

We need a little culture around here every now and then. Hope your keyboard gets there soon because we sure need some of your wonderful humor and gorgeous eye candy. Take care of yourself while you sit there twiddling your thumbs.

Ah, Louis the 14th, given the most powerful monarchy in Europe by Cardinal Richelieu, incompetently failed to realize that the protestants in France were being crushed by Catholic fanatics, but happily accepted the news that it was a totally Catholic nation after they were all driven out. This destroyed the French Middle Class who had all be huguenots, that destroyed the French economy, which brought on the French Revolution beheading his heirs and ending his line. The Revolution took the land from the Church, sold it to peasants at cut rate, which created a large class of small landholders who became the backbone of the French Republic. Modern capitalists are a lot like the Aristocrates of Monarchical France. Under Louis 14, the poor were taxed and the aristocrats were not.

As there are some anachronisms, J. Ferry, E. Lavisse and F. Nathan have to turn around in their grave. lol
But as they were three "swindlers" armed with a propaganda (History) book to bring the "We the people" to the WWI (pushed by some other ideologies, too), if they're turning now , it doesn't matter. :-D
So Arrogathor, take care if someone will ask you to wear a red pant at a time : it could be to lost you...
Ah, the Historical Novel...
Well, as I have no keyboard except the visual one on the screen, I will do a joke around school/teaching/chronology, later.
Cheers Dude !
P.S. Never forget that before the "Republic", no poor, no peasant, no "We the People" went to the war. Only SOLDiers who perceived a military salary (La Solde) and the "Elite" were used to it.
For sure, "Yours" did not have to lose...(as you'd payed them taxes for nothing lol)

Restauration rapide ! C'est dans les vieux pots qu'on ferait les meilleurs confitures ? Pourquoi pas ? Mais en ce qui concerne l'école, sa déconfiture n'est pas due à la République, mais à la connerie.
@Arrogathor : Mazarin, pas Richelieu !

L'état, c'est moi!
The state is me!
With all my due respects. Probably the greatest and best monarch in European history.
Thanks for posting this beautiful portrait!
Keep up the good work!
