Makes my hand hurt just to look at those contortions; I guess it's easier to lose a glove than say, a shoe, for example...but still, one would think that the sound of it hitting the ground might alert the owner. These things aren't all that light! Great find and shot, Harry!

Another of your wonderful shots that deserve so much more then 3 comments. I'm honored to be the 4th. Terrific capture, both in the original and in the variation. The shape, shadows, twists, and intense highlighting in the top shot is terrific; as is the detail around it (a wonderful array of sticks, tiny leaves, pebbles, sand, etc). With a goodly amount of deep shadow. You even have some blue in there---maybe the original color of the glove, I don't know.

Then the variation: a "Caravaggio"-like treatment, with deep darks and chiaroscuro, deep shadows, intense highlights, and a soil that's suddenly turned a deep humus-brown. Really fine and sensitive work. And the details in both shots are wonderful. I'm glad the other half of the pair was gone when you shot this, because the solo shot is terrific. Though, if you had the 2d glove, you'd have done a terrific job with the 2 of them as well. You are wonderful with these found objects---you know how to capture their life, their strangeness, their light and shadow, and all the textures and qualities they exude. I have yet to do one good shot of a found object: Your gallery gives me numerous first-rate lessons...
