Perfect shot of this chipper little fellow; I have a large flock of them in my back garden trees, and I love hearing them call to each other very excitedly when I fill the feeders.

Every detail so clean and clear! I wonder how they keep they claws down... I always think about that every time I see to the parrot.

Over here, guys! Sounding the dinner alarm as expressed in this stellar portrait of the little chickadee, Maria, in its moment of delight. Love the burnt umber ambiance of the image.

you know, shots of birds like the chickadee can so easily fall into the sentimental or corny category, or "too cute"...but you are miles away from that: First, your detail is mixed with a softness, something I've seen in many of your bird captures: You capture great detail yet you still retain a soft glow, and the birds are almost 'pet-able' via your captures. Second, this is so totally what it is, it's a totally serious bird capture with real respect for the integrity of the animal. I see that in all your bird shots: Integrity and respect for the animal---ie, respecting its wholeness, not intruding on it or changing it for the picture. And his slightly turned gaze and open beak are another example of your timing. It's wonderful. And finally, that orange-rust-beige surrounding makes a coppery background...An exquisite capture. Man, you're good at this!
