"Just then they came in sight of thirty or forty windmills that rise from that plain. And no sooner did Don Quixote see them that he said to his squire, "Fortune is guiding our affairs better than we ourselves could have wished. Do you see over yonder, friend Sancho, thirty or forty hulking giants? I intend to do battle with them and slay them."
Actually, the photo above is what I was composing in Tara's post of yesterday, "Lining It Up". These are more rolling Palouse wheat fields that had us so mesmerized for a couple of days. When I zoomed in during the process of postworking this photo, there were all these wonderful windmills on the horizon. I immediately thought of Cervantes and Don Quixote :-)
Well worth a Zoom.

Rolling, rolling, rolling. Well, we can see the John Deere tractors have been busy working this tract of the wheat field in this lovely scene with its very cool depth, Bill.

Now days Don Quixote, tilting at windmills, would probably be working for Big Oil. This is a superb image. The layered look of the hills as they recede into the distance and the patterns created by the tractors (or are they crop circles?) all make for an outstanding picture.

Who knew the man from La Mancha was into sustainable energy!!!! Great photo mate. IMHO the curves in the field make for a very pleasing photo.
