Description
I'm just posting this to illustrate the flexibility of rendering different lights in LuxRender.
All the different renders are all from one scene file where I changed the light colour and intensity either while rendering, or right after, directly into LuxRender. You just have to set up your lights as different light groups while in Reality 4, so you can control them individually later while rendering (I even made the mistake of setting the colour for my red and blue spots in Reality, so that I could't vary the colour much in LuxR… I should have left them as white light to give more flexibility!). If you combine the light controls with the camera/exposure controls, you can get an incredible amount of choices on the output of your scene.
You will also notice a certain amount of graininess in the renders, that is due to the "Fog" volume I put my characters into so that I could achieve some amount of a light cone effect (more effective at a distance), and "maybe" the scene might need more rendering time, but at almost 1100 samples/pixels and almost 40 hours of render time on my Mac, it's good enough for me! Can't wait for the release of Reality 4.1 next week and its promise of great speed improvements!
I've tried and quite like iRay in Daz Studio, I especially like its speed. But for Indirect light in inclosed or partially inclosed scenes, I personally find LuxRender to be better. I've tested one scene I've rendered in LuxR. via Luxus from DAZ Studio and as of now could not achieve the same results in iRay, maybe I have to recheck my settings, but as a few tries, not the same… (The scene is "The Rescue of Colony GZ4" in my gallery, careful, bloody!).
Anyway will still be using both of course, just like a lot the flexibility of LuxRender, hope it gets faster too.
Thanks for looking, and for letting me rant, Dan

Love them all well done :)

LUX is a very cool render engine. I love the varied materials and natural light qualities you can achieve. You did a nice job achieving different light FX with your Atmo.
