Photos like this prove that decay is a very rich thing, and that it has a music all its own. Your choice of black and white brings out the stark music of these dilapidated houses/shacks. And you've done a fine job with highlights and shadows, even in the speckled road and brush around the houses. Also, your pov aligns all the roofs in a single line, and aligns that with the mountain tops behind---a stark harmony between building and nature. It has a Depression Era look, like the famous shots of the Farm Security Administration. (I assume you know them, but if not, they're eminently worth a view. You can see the largest collection of them on the Library of Congress online, under FSA/Farm Security Administration, and Photos.) Very fine work on this bleak but visually very alive sight.
