Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

a loving, flame-like dahlia shot, to celebrate your 5th anniversary; with very loving words to accompany it. I haven't mastered flower shooting at all, so I can appreciate how you have, and how you and Tara have given us lots of wonderful flower shots. (Of course, Tara also has those painted flower shots which pulse and ooze and explore so sensually.) This "rushes"---I don't know another word---the petals rush towards the left, they move like flame. And the reds and yellows emphasize that 'flame' feeling: Very sweet for a gift of love for your wife, reaching out with passion and flame. And your crop emphasizes the flame feeling, because it cuts us to the horizontal (which is where the petals are all flowing). Beautifully done, Bill; and it radiates in full size. A very loving tribute to your wonderful marriage. (Given my usual awful humor, I thought of two things I couldn't sign off without saying: One, in place of "It has been a great five years. Life is so much better with you than without you!" you could've gone for high comedy by writing, "trust me, this has been a BIGGG mistake!" And (it gets better), you could've invited Carol Channing in for a classic "Hello Dahlia" joke. That's all. That's my unwanted humor for today.) Beautifully done, and happy anniversary to you both!

Big, bold, beautiful composition. Another one that would look great blown up huge & hung on a wall in a prominent place. Congratulations to you & Tara...

I was just looking through your gallery and discovered I hadn't left a comment on this beautiful dedication! We talked about it in person, and I know I saw the post. I must have gotten distracted. :P Thank you for this, hon, both image and words. 💖
