I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Great shot - love the light, the reflections, the shadows, the golden tones & the way you've captured the vertical feel of the city...

Wow, they are very tall buildings, all that glass!!!

They must go to great 'panes' to clean all that glass !!
I would feel very lonely in there Carin.

Can't wait to show Tara the town. You'll have to tell us your favorite places to visit before we go. No rush, won't be for awhile. Agree with what Claude had to say...particularly about the verticality of the city. Great job.

These skyscrapers are fascinating me. A really great shot, Carin :)

... like worlds within the cosmos, tiny shells filled with life forms : ) I know that you enjoyed the visit.
If inquiring minds want to know, a list of the tall buildings is within the link below :

Wow, we should call it cube/rectangle city if this is any salute to your beloved city, Carin. A torrent of depth and various colors, shades, lighting effects and sizes in this splendid capture of New York, New York.

Wonderful shot of the profusion of lines and squares; I myself wasn't enamoured of the city when I was there, but I do admire the wealth of photographic opportunities. I much prefer a less-intrusive living space!

Well, dear Carin, is this an interesting, and amazing shot! One 'could look his eyes out' by seeing so many buildings 'growing up', and standing so proud and right (up). Also my brains this photo stimulates to go thinking about all what would be, and happens behind so many (different) windows. And I understand very well why you just love New York, my friend. It's most impressing to see the light, reflections and colours (and so many-much of them).
