I approached the basin warily. The moon was high and full. The light it cast was bright and revealing. I was in extreme peril, an easy target for anyone who chanced upon me. But, I had to go on. I was driven by a force which could not be denied. As I drew nearer the basin, the waters became agitated, as if incensed by the approach of a Dark Elf. The waters roiled violently and yet not a drop spilled to the ground. It heaved, it churned, and it bubbled with all the energy of a man caught in the throes of a fit. And still, it did not breach the boundaries of the basin. I stopped by the basin edge and peered at the convulsive waters. Great spouts shot into the air, hung silvery and twisting in the moonlight, before dropping back into the basin. I reached out with a trembling hand and grasped the side of the basin. The waters calmed and the surface became smooth and like a mirror. The bloated moon seemed to float on the waters and my reflection stared back at me. I could see fear in that face. Fear and... And, triumph. Never before had a Dark Elf peered into the waters of the Mirror of O'Tek. I was the first. And, now, I would see what was to come. The waters began to swirl and they turned as red as blood. The reflection of the moon was gone, the reflection of my face was gone, and, from what seemed the depths of the ocean, I could see flames. They rose from the depths like a serpent, twisting and writhing. As they neared the surface, I could see that these flames consumed a town - a Human town. Great forms moved about in the flames on great legs or split the air on giant wings. From hideous heads with gaping mouths great gouts of flame spewed forth. And all was aflame.
