Description

I couldn't quite put my finger on it but my former captor didn't appear quite as healthy as he was before. CPR seemed pointless and the kiss of life was a definite non-starter, taking his weapon I returned to the Command Center. Pausing at the door I prepared myself for what I'd find.....it didn't work, as the door slid open my jaw nearly hit the floor. " General Manager, what the hell.." the General cut me off " Ahh Wilson, perhaps you can explain..." I cut the General off " NO, you explain, how did you find this place ? " The General, obviously unacustomed to being interupted, glared and then holding up a box file said " I was conducting my annual security sweep of The Plant when I came across this...". I stared in disbelief, " That was locked in MY safe " I said. The General looked flushed as he said " I like to be thorough ", he was about to continue when I asked " well how did you get things up and running so fast ? The General reached into the box file and produced a small booklet " very handy " he said, " OK " I said " but how did you even get in here ?" I swear the General almost smiled as he reached into the box file once more and held up a bunch of keys. I could have kicked myself, I'd even left the alarm fob attached to the spare front door key....Now it was the Generals turn, " Have you any idea what Military Aquisition & Developement could do with a thing like this ?" he asked, " Yes " I replied " That's why I hid the bloody thing ". The General looked truly puzzled, " Then why did you build it?" he enquired, I thought for a moment and said " it's a sort of Ark, in case of nuclear war or global catastrophe, it would be used to save some people, carrying them up to space, to await the Earths recovery or as a starting point to finding a new Planet to colonise". The General smiled " That's good news, it would be vital to save Government and Military leaders...." I laughed, " No chance, I'd take artists and poets, writers and builders, there'd be no place for warmongering old farts like you and as for Politicians...." The General raised an eyebrow, " Then why is it packing so much weaponry ?" he asked, indicating the Phaser Rifle in my hand. I looked at the weapon and said " because there'd be no room for warmongering old farts like you "....The General chewed on his cigar, thinking and then said....

Haaa! That "Dead Man Walking" t-shirt sure was fun - taking it all literally! No stench? And then the surprise with Gen. (mis)Management! and his explanations, using your slip-ups to rifle your safe to see what secrets you have hidden away (assumingly to hide from military purposes) and now everything's blown! Now, how do you get out of this mess without Gen. (mis)Management selling your secrets down the river to the Taliban (real, or political, or mess-medial, or otherwise). Or do you have to blow it all up, just in time for the Environmental Inspector coming! What a mess that would be. A scandal (unless s/he gets blown up with it = silenced and cap on!). I really like the background - looks like a photo out of focus. This was a real surprising turn of events. I can hardly wait till your next post! Keep up the good work! :-) Drat! Still no 6 on the "ratting" scale!
