Definitely not for hill walking! I have three sorts of these from when I was still working and didn't spend all day doing outdoor stuff.

Our campground in Grand Teton National Park warned us not to leave shoes outside overnight. Foxes are drawn to interesting smells and they steal people shoes all the time. Don't suppose you've ever had any stolen from your backdoor...not with Ralph on the lookout. Nice shoes...good photo:-)

I'm on an Andrea's-boot kick, right now. I Loved these the minute they went up. Your postwork, here, is of your layered type, with consecutive layers of land, each running into the next. (With broken shorelines and stipple.) It suits the broad swaths of black, silver and I think gold in the boots. Those are fine boot booties! ("bootie" in the sexist sense. Like, "Nice booty, lady!") Zoomed all the way, these are like boot high rises. And again, you gave us one part of the shoes, so we can see just how strange a shoe can be. And the gold trim on the soles---I assume that's gold (and not silver with light on it)---are great accents to the whole. As is that lone lace on the right, a huge piece of linguine falling down. Love the shot. And I can see why they're not the best for hiking or thunderstorms...
