Description
Putting out 1,200hp each, the Liberator bomber has four of these. That's almost as powerful as my WRX. ;) Interestingly, the Boomerang below uses the very same engine.

A great engine...and yours is one of the original 173,618 built. Then there is the cost of the four bladed prop to add...I've heard that one of those is $100,000 today.

Ha, ha, haaa! Thanks for the laugh! Wrapped in bubble wrap. I'd never had dreamed of ever seeing an airplane engine in bubble wrap! Thanks for the laugh! But I can well understand why! And now it's "count the number of cylinders" game and figure out how many horse power a single cylinder produces. Great photo. Were you privileged, or was the public allowed into these areas you've photographed? At any rate, nice walk round! Keep up the good work! :-) Still no 6 in the "ratting" system. Sigh...
