1/3 The famous "Potemkine stairs" used by S. Eisenstein in his movie made in 1925. The stairs are just facing the arbour and the Black Sea and join city level and sea level. 192 stairs. At the top, you see a statue of the first mayor of Odessa, the French Duke of Richelieu. Some days ago.

I remember that movie from film class years ago. Looking at those stairs today, I'm getting a bit of vertigo and sore knees just from the photo!

Un fameux escalier, Ce dernier duc de richelieu fut ensuite "premier ministre" pendant la période compliquée de la restauration Louis dixhuitième.... Remboursant les dettes de guerre et d'occupation par l'emprunt, une sorte de vieille habitude en somme.
