Description
A few months ago, we visited some friends in California. They have a dog that they have entered in dog shows (& has won prizes) & she had just had a litter. They are Brittanys, which Wikipedia says is " a breed of gun dog bred primarily for bird hunting. Although it is often referred to as a Spaniel, the breed's working characteristics are more akin to those of a pointer or setter. Brittanys were developed in the Brittany province of France between the 17th and 19th centuries, becoming officially recognized early in the 20th." The puppies were pretty darned cute, as you can see from this picture of them nursing...

Oh my goodness, that is just TOO cute! My nephews had Brittany's and like you said, utilized them only for hunting. Nice shot!

Oh my. They're so cute, with those half-closed eyes and little paws. I can't imagine a better image to illustrate the word "contentment." Love this!

I'm at an hour now, and I have been called away. I'd planned on 2 or 3 hours, but I'll get to them soon. But this is a great place to end today. Obviously the sight of these soft newborns is enough of a reason for the shot. And your semi-soft focus makes them as cuddle-able as I assume they were in person. But there's music in the photo, in the direction of all those furs huddling into their mother, in the way the direction stops and turns horizontal via the mother's fur. In the strong dark browns of the mothers fur, on the bottom, contrasted with the lighter hues throughout the rest of the shot. And with the sight of all those tiny faces---and half-opened eyes---as our focal point; all being protected and fed-by the "sea" of the mother below. A very sensitive and beautiful shot of a mother nursing her pups. Very finely done, Claude. I'll be back in the next number of days...and I'm looking forward to more from Europe...
