I don't get much time to browse the galleries and wow, I've missed a lot :( I am really enjoying your work! This particular piece, the swirls and design feel like music to me.
Fantastic image!
Question: I typically stick to digital because of time and space constraints, but I am curious what types of paints you use for these? They are simply magnificent.

Since I'm at nearly 2 hours now (with your wonderful work), I'm going to have to stop after this image. I hope to come back for more soon. This is an amazingly expressive and complex image. The woman seems to be slightly defiant and staunch. She doesn't even bother to look at you (lol)---she looks to the side, as if to say she doesn't need to look at anyone. You gave her an appropriately stern face. And her hair is painted in outline this time: You've not filled it in with any hues---except you have those "energy lines," those black 'squiggles' which make her hair look 'electric'. As if she has electricity flowing through it. Very effectively done.
All this sits atop a long sleek body, which slowly descends to the bottom of your painting, with green highlights flowing through that total black. The green is beautifully applied, and it's luminous. Then all that black and green suddenly ends in a flurry of ruffles and activity---ie, the bottom of her dress, which billows out like fudge or taffy piling up in "ribbons" at the bottom of a pan. Beautifully done! And, once again, you've created balance with her shoulders leaning back to the left; her hips thrusting forward to the right; and her legs leaning back to the left again. You do that 'balance' so often, we take it for granted: But you do it so ease-fully and well, we must remember to praise you for it!
The lower half of the painting is washed in a green wash---beautifully done, esp with the greens in her dress. And behind her? Another of your beautiful line paintings, that Art Nouveau-ish, flowing, musical line that you use every so often; which flows into pure Celtic design here and there. It follows her, and then leaves her body to fill in the other side of the paper. Also brilliantly done.
And don't let me forget your signature---you always place it intuitively, and always in a way that doesn't interfere with the painting---and yet it's as stylish and graceful as the painting. Terrific work, Yves, highly intuitive and articulate painting. It's a joy to be here. And, while I see everything you post, it's a special joy to finally sit and comment on it.. If I wrote shorter comments (and didn't take so much time), I"d comment on a lot more. But the 2 hours I spent her was marvelous. Beautiful work. I hope to be back soon...
