Ah ! la belle Andalouse !!! Pour moi qui aime l'Espagne en général avec un faible pour l'Andalousie, je suis aux anges d'autant que là, on n'entend pas la musique...que je crains un peu ! Superbe, l'ami, superbe.

Wonderful style.
First, I love that you used only blacks and reds. It captures the passion of the music and the dance. Second, your stylization is superb. The dancer's hands are a series of single-pointed fingers, done so simply and yet so expressively. Her left arm (on our right) is barely painted at all: You've left out much of the arm, making it not only "sleek," but as if it were made of 'air'. (Her shoulder is almost invisible, here.) Her face is all "immersion" (flamenco dancers are always immersed in their art). And you have the traditional red flower. Her torso is simple and bent in a thrusting position, like a bullfighter---typical of Flamenco dancing. And the rest of the painting is black and blue spheres---like bubbles or bursts of light, or even blood (sangre)---but the blood of passion, not of illness or injury.
You put her on one side of the painting, letting her passion fill up the blank spaces. And there's all your white space, very effectively used. It's masterful, simple, and passionate. Flamenco's a great art form; I played Flamenco guitar for a while, but I wasn't good enough, lol. It's very difficult. But it's a fiery art form, and I know it flourished in Southern France. Beautiful work, Yves.
