Description
The Roseate Skimmer Dragonfly (Orthemis ferruginea)...
...is found mainly in the southern U.S. states and further south in Central America, West Indies and Hawaii. They are initially brownish and only achieve this wonderful pink and purple color as they reach maturity. As I'd never seen one before, you can imagine my delight.
