Description

So you may chose out of a selection of names for this 'brother & sister' flowers. Two in a kind to be precise. : "Policeman's helmet", "Bobby Tops", "Copper Tops", Gnome's Hatstand , and another three I know. Well I like this name: "Kiss-me-on-the-mountain". However, it must be the right person that gives you a kiss. Nevertheless, it was on a mountain that I took this photo, in the fields nearby. Thank you for your visit, wishing you all a lovely weekend. p.s. The Latin name is: Impatiens glandulifera , and here we call it: Springbalsemien.

It quite resembles the orange jewelweed we have here, Impatiens capensis; a little beauty, and a stunning photo!

This is a superb pic of this beautiful flower. Here we are waging war on it as it is an unwelcome and invasive species which is crowding out our native wild flowers from many river banks. There was recently a two day work party near me which still didn't manage to eradicate all the plants from a small area! But there is a little plus side, the bumble bees like them!

We have the problem Andrea has, although not to the degree they do over there. Our common name here is "Himalayan balsam," and it's considered to be a noxious weed. It sure is beautiful, though! They always make me think of orchids.

Amazing capture Mies. It nearly sound as we have the same problem with evasive plants then food. All the food that does look delicious to us humans is not always so healthy for us, but rather unhealthy and all these invasive plants do look so beautiful but they are invaders. God bless.
