Description
Captured 10/6/15 @ 8:21 am, on my way to the post office.
This time, one not meticulously captured under the pristine controlled conditions of my condominium bedroom, but an abandoned pair, sans the attendant eyepieces, lying out on a dusty street. I don't think I even maneuvered it around for the best shadow, lest a vehicle comes roaring up, which they sometimes do. Shoot and get out of the way, I always say. And, it seems to cast a masque of the macabre shadow, ironically just in time for the Halloween season.
Ciao.

Oh, well seen, Harry! What a surprising shadow this cast... I was not expecting those pointed 'wings' on the edges. Looks kinda like those atrocious glasses that were popular back in the 50's.

It does seem to be showing its alter-ego, the sly wit of a lady with cats-eye spectacles! Great find and shot, Harry!

Terrific capture! I love the round frames with the cat-eye shadow. So unexpected! Very cool.

Again, when I skip in your gallery (rather than go chronologically), it's not a statement about the pieces that I skip over---not at all! Just that I like to skip around sometimes. (And I'm writing unusually long comments this morning, which means I'm not going to do as many comments as I'd like. I should pace myself---some sessions I'm just too slow...)
Well onto the shot...I forget that some of your signature pavement-shadow shots are on STREETS! I always think they're on sidewalks or parking lots, etc. It takes some guts to shoot on a street, esp when you're bent down and unable to eye the traffic. And this is a tuesday morning (I looked it up), which means that there was probably traffic at this hour. Glad you're still with us! Anyway, yes to all the above comments; and as helle says, the shot brings out the inner demon in those glasses. (She didn't say it that way, but I'm sure she meant it.) Yes, another good entry for Halloween. Love the deep blue shadow, the contrast with the glasses---which seem to be sans ear pieces (or stems, whatever they're called). (They're called "temples"---I remember you told us, a ways back.) (Do people worship in them?) And wonderful counterpoint with the perpendicular striations in the road, with fine textures in the concrete...Another fine entry in this series of pavement shadows. Your morning light shots are terrific: real electricity in the light and textures you capture.
