Description
As a whim, and just for the grins, I thought I would post an inadvertent shot of my workplace, that I captured 10/6/15 @ 8:42 am, illuminated only by a shaft of light streaming down through a window in my stairwell.
With the 24" monitor on top, we have below, from left to right, a couple of calculators, lamp, magnifying glass, my glasses atop the external CD player, my 500GB Mac Mini, a 300GB external hard drive, followed by a one-terabyte external hard drive. In, around and under all of that hardware lie pens, pencils, cables, wires, note pads, and more eyeglasses. The keyboard (not shown) is sitting on a rolling shelf below the top of the desk. Also out of sight are the external speakers, modem, and scanner. No Wi-Fi here.
I know the ladies out there - whose computer workplaces are always neat, orderly, prim and proper - will be turned off by all of this stuff in disarray, but this is how it usually looks when I'm busy creating, postworking, downloading, uploading or on the Internet.
Ciao.

Harry, yours looks relatively neat compared to mine. I'm not known for my neatness these days, unfortunately, and since my parents are living with me my office has been relocated to a corner of my bedroom, with a lot of stuff in a relatively little spot! Nice to see what your center of operations looks like!

HA! That´s what you think, Harry :-) Sometimes you can´t even see my desk for junk. I have half of my life in my bedroom. My stationary PC, my work space table, which you can´t see for all the supplies. My dresser, my bookcase, then comes the window. Under that my bedside table then my bed and at last a very large closet. All in an about 17 feet X 10 feet room, where I can touch the low ceiling in the one long side. How neat do you think it is in here? :-) Remember I live in my little summerhouse. lol!
So I think you have a cozy place there, Harry :)

To me, it looks neat. My computer corner does not look as tidy as your workplace. Everything is full of pens, paper, DVDs and other things. Sometimes it's a real mess. A good equipment you've got there, my son also has a Mac Mini, and he is very pleased with it. Super shot!

How very interesting! And I don't think it looks messy at all, just optimum use of compact space. Very cool and thanks for sharing.

Cool work place my friend !!!

Looks similar to my desk! As long as I know where everything is, nobody else's opinion matters

it is apparent disorders, the same underlying logic ... each object is the place where you expect, it is the storage, like sorting some things 'hidden' are only slightly used .. .and each stack of papers supports its highest place, the most important parts store ... means nothing other than to remove the dust with a cloth, the latter falling once tidy cloth !!! excellent lighting by cons here !!!

I see that the women here think your desk space is neater than theirs...I've only seen pics of one (Helle's), and I can concur, she has a very busy workspace, lol. But so do I. It's a badge of honor for creative people that they have lots of stuff going on in their workspaces. But the pic is about more than what you have in that space: It's about the counterpoint of many objects, and the wonderful play of intense morning light with intense inside shadows. You couldn't have gotten better placement, with the light blasting on a magnifying glass, which responds with wonderful obliterating flare. And on those papers, which are ultra white as a result. (What's "201"? What a fine focal point for the shot.) And calculators??? Man, I haven't seen physical calculators in a long time! Most of us use software or a calculator app. Nice to see some people actually calculate on a calculator! (And 2! My father, who was in banking and law, never owned a computer in his life, and he did all his finances on a hand-crank calculator---that puts him back in Ancient Greece, I think---and also by longhand. He'd think your two calculators were way too 'modern'.) You use glass here very well too; and the monitor---covered in a fine grain (I assume from the low light in your camera) is almost creepy, like it has some terrible revelation behind it. And the angle of your shot is perfect, to get the array of stuff you have in it. Love the light and shadow. A fine addition to your morning inside-shadow shots. Another of your specialty genres. A really scintillating shot.
