I used to see these all the time when I was young but only the red ones. I looked them up and they are edible but only when crushed and washed under running water. The birds should have a fine time with these.

Excellent shot, these are so beautiful! Mine has more berries this year than any year before, and the shrub is full of birds. I'm sure it will be stripped soon!
