Description
Mount Rainier, or Mount Tahoma in the Lushootseed language of the Salish Native American tribes of Washington, is an active volcano last erupting in 1894. At 14,411 ft (4,392 m) it is the highest mountain in the Cascade Range. Located 54 miles (87 km) south-southeast of Seattle, it is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.
Before I left the state of Washington I had to get a closer look at this looming menace that seemed to be omnipresent where ever I went. I took a day and drove out to Mount Rainier National Park and the park headquarters at Longmire. A short walk from the headquarters is Narada Falls which plunges 188 feet (57 meters) into a gorge below. The falls was named by Frederick Gordon Plummer in 1893. Narada, is a Hindu word meaning "pure".

A fabulous shot of this spectacular place!
In case anybody is worried, Denise and Bill and I live considerably north of the hazard zone.

And when we are in Texas we are really safe...lol. This is a spectacular POV Mark. I have never been here. My only day on Mount Ranier, it was shrouded in fog.
