Who doesn't like a fashion show with the latest 'Haute Couture' ? and you brought it alive Yves, with just a few strokes of BG colours - are you sure your name is not Yves Saint Laurent ? ;))
Cheers BB

Perfect for Rod (who I see really appreciated this). It's like one of the women in his comic series. This woman stands defiantly, confident in her stance, with nothing to explain. You covered half her face, which gives her an air of privacy. Yet, for a private person, she faces us with total forwardness and confidence. To balance the left-flow of her hair, you gave a right-flow to her top, the part that covers her chest. More balance. She looks windblown, like she just came out of a storm or a battle. And her legs stretch wayyyyy down, in beautiful blacks and purples; where the purples are beautiful accents against all that black. And I love that you have one foot pointing down, while the other foot is flat. More balance.
You've backed this woman with wonderful washes---you've applied the washes quickly, spontaneously, which only adds to the feeling that this woman "just appeared". I love the combination of bright yellow, pale pink and beige. It sets her off beautifully. And the paper appears brighter on top than on the bottom. The painting is done masterfully, and conveys a youthful defiant power and energy. More masterful portraiture from you, Yves. Oh---and Happy Birthday, Rod!!! And many, many more!
