Description

Captured back on 4/15/11 @ 7:04 am, most likely at a local strip mall. Plain old simple garden variety balloons. I wish they had been glossy and shiny so to strongly reflect the sunlight. Bye.

Very nice colorful display nonetheless. I see what you mean about wishing there were glossy balloons to reflect the sunlight; but I also think the dull colors give it a sort of velvety look too. Wonderful catch.

And here I thought, why dont they shine a little bit. They must be old already :-) Very fine shot though, Harry :)

A very happy image - colorful balloons would make anyone smile. Well seen and captured, Harry.

I'm sure there is some reason that these balloons are the opaque kind, most likely to do with price and availability! Still, what a cool thing to find, this bouquet of spheres in happy colours...great capture!

I've said this elsewhere, but, for me, the 'matte' quality of the balloons make them---and this shot---special. They have such presence without the shine. And the colors---very bold, and boldly lit---really stand out. It has the presence of an abstract art installation; or some kind of modern sculpture---I love the lack of sheen on the balloons, esp given that they're fully blown-up. The background is wonderful too---with that shadowed/segmented wall in the background, and the beige and white wall in the foreground: These whites are contrasted by the grays and dark shadows of the piece. And fine angles here too. Abstractly, this is a really fine piece, Harry.
