Description

The last piece I did (not currently up on Renderosity), in some ways, is everything that's wrong with 3D art. Technically... it was fine. Lighting wasn't bad, textures were good, but the pose was stiff and in many ways unnatural in how the model sat and how she placed her weight. She'd been stuck on the scene without being part of the scene and that's not okay. So I did something I virtually never do. I reloaded the scene and started working on making it right. This time around, I'm much happier. Also, discovery of the day... my "semi-passive" GPU has been deciding to pretend to be fully passive when rendering. I wish I knew how long that had been going on.... it was bouncing off 90C while rendering and throttling back to 550 Mhz to stop from cooking itself. Not good. BIOS update (for the card) fixed that but I lost my color profiles because to update the BIOS I had to uninstall drivers before I could run the BIOS update (LAME!) If this looks oddly washed out or overly dark, please let me know... I have yet to run back through a fine tuned color calibration on my monitors since fixing the card late last night so this may be a little off. On the plus side, now that the card isn't throttling this rendered in less than an hour :) Daz Studio 4.8 -> IRAY -> Photoshop

Overall very good lighting and color saturation aside from the wonderful imagery. You lost a lot of detail in the hair and maybe the highlights on the walls and her leather are a bit on the bright side (easy fix). As for your first point about getting things right. "The devil is in the details". This is where most people get a little lazy. Glad to see you back and looking good.
