Again with the gorgeousness! Love the colors and _seeming _simplicity of these, though don't get me wrong, I don't think they are simple at all. Wonderful!

Reds, blacks and whites are normal for you...but that saturated eye-popping yellow, and the light pink (of her lips), and that beautiful pale orange are gorgeous, in combination with your usual hues. This is definitely a Fall image; and the tree in the background looks like a late October tree, with bare branches and a touch of Halloween.
It's beautifully composed: The woman looks at us over her shoulder---as if you called her name, and she turned around suddenly. She's enrapt in something else, but she stops to acknowledge you. Beautifully done. And that huge collar---maybe a scarf---nearly engulfs her. (She'll need that scarf, if she comes to Chicago.) Her torso is painted in two sections: For all the mini-sections of her upper-torso, it's really only one big chunk of "red": Very effective. And her hair and hat and eyed are equally simple---big cut-out sections of color. I love that she has no nose---it's left to our imagination, and it makes her more mysterious. And you cut off her head, as you did her torso---which feels like you zoomed-in with a camera, to get a closeup. It feels like we're peering into a private moment...With your beautiful moon/sun and tree, it feels like a day scene, but also a night scene. And then (as always, in your paintings), you have your deep white space.
Very colorful, very minimalist, and yet very rich in feeling. And a wonderful evocation of Autumn. Happy Birthday, Mark! May your travels across the earth bring you much joy and wisdom! Terrific work once again, Yves.

I like it how you just place a tree and sun (or moon?) in the background to suggest a landscape. Very simple but always lovely as usual. :)
