Description

Emma Peel is a fictional spy played by Diana Rigg in the British 1960s adventure television series The Avengers, by Diane Appleby in the South African radio series of The Avengers (1971-73), and by Uma Thurman in the 1998 film version of the show. She was born Emma Knight, the daughter of an industrialist, Sir John Knight. The character was notable for a number of characteristics. She is a heroine; she is rarely bested in any fight and is capable of rescuing her partner John Steed (Patrick Macnee) if he is in trouble. She is a master of martial arts and a formidable fencer. A certified genius, she specializes in chemistry and other sciences. She is often seen in episodes engaging in artistic hobbies and had success in industry at the helm of the company of her late father, Sir John Knight. Her husband, Peter Peel, was a pilot whose plane disappeared over the Amazonian forest. He was presumed dead for many years, and Peel went on to work with Steed. She drove a convertible Lotus Elan at high speeds, and convincingly portrayed any series of undercover roles, from nurse to nanny. Her favorite guise was that of a women's magazine reporter, trying to interview big business tycoons and rich playboys. The name "Emma Peel" is a play on the phrase "Man Appeal" or "M. Appeal", which the production team stated was one of the required elements of the character ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Credits: Character: FWSA Adaline HD for V7 / DAZ --- Set/Chair: The Library / DAZ --- Costume: Eclipse Outfit for G3F, Boots: Delta Outfit for G3F / DAZ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for viewing. Wonderful model presentation and background story. I am interested in the fireplace and flooring here. They are really quite striking. Could you tell me where you got them, if possible. Thanks.

Nice homage to a heroine of my youth (though many films I remember were black & white, was Emma not more of a redhead?). Very well done. Like it 👏

Depending on the angle and light, she appeared from medium auburn to almost coal black. Have to remember, HD was still a dream back in the 60s.

Sensational portrayal. You created a very lovely model and the posing is really fine. A great job on this one. Emma was a regular in her time and I am sure she would like this work. Well done.

Thanks a lot! I sure remember Diana Rigg and Patrick Macnee in "The Avengers". That was my favorite TV show when I was in England in the late 1960's. Thanks for refreshing my memory about Emma Peel and John Steed. My most memorable episode was the attack on the sick home for diverse agents, wherein John Steed fires a harpoon out of his crutch, killing the leader of the gang. There was a flower pot dropped on someone naughty's head, too. I just can't remember the titles of any of the episodes. Nice job with the picture! Keep up the good work! :-)

I loved that show! I'd love to see a depiction of Xena: Warrior Princess! (hine--hint)!

I'm a huge fan of the series. It's hard to believe nowadays but at the time that Diana Rigg joined the show, there were many fans and critics who thought she'd never take Honor Blackman's place. (Honor, of course, quit the Avengers to costar in Goldfinger). You did a great job at suggesting the essence of Mrs. Peel, especially with that half-smirk she was so famous for!

Oh that infamous cat-suit... it never looked better, except perhaps on Ms. Rigg!
