For every fleet you need lots of tankers

Not many think of that. Great detail and very 'realistic' in design. Tom

Nice design, your Statement might not be true though, if a fleet needs tankers or not depends on the type of fuel they use.The tanks indicate that your fleet uses some kind of gas or a fluid chemical propulsion. Considering the distances involved in deepspace flight, a drive like that would get you nowhere. More likely would be a drive using some kind of matter/energy conversion to produce the huge amount of energy needed to propell a ship of that sice with reasonable velocity through deepspace. This means though, that using very little matter would produce a huge amount of energy. The ship could possibly even fly, collecting interstellar matter (Space is not really a vacuum)if the collectors where large enough. lol enough of it Cool work anyway Hope to see more see ya

Very nice model and textures

Your fleet is growing again Steve. :) Impressive modeling as always. I can't wait to see them put to use. ;)

Excellent modelling and image!!

Another woderfully detailed model. Shades of B5 here. I like the hazard striping and grunged up storage tanks. A lot of work must have gone into this.

Django's analysis is interesting, but is based on the inference that this is a fuel tanker. For all the reasons he stated, a fuel tanker would likely not be very useful to most interstellar fleets. However, while energy might not be a problem, food, water, and even air could be. Certainly recycling could take care of some of the demand for consumable, but for extended deep space tours, replenishment would be needed. As such, a tanker able to carry large amounts of air and water would be invaluable. Anyway, great picture!
