My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

What amazing texture you've captured; I could look at this for hours! Fantastic work!

Sun and wind, heat and cold, ice and snow have taken their toll but it is all still there...and I'll bet it has been there for at least 50-60 years. What a fascinating subject and composition. Mighty well done.

I think that 30-year warranty ran out about 50 years ago! :-D
What a delightful study in textures and colors, Tara! You find the coolest stuff to photograph. I need to get off my butt and get out with the camera(s) more - both ground and airborne. I need 48 hour days (except workdays, of course...)

A super study and just think of the weight up there !!!

Great abstract, Tara... so many details to see! Curious that the ones on the bottom right still look fairly decent.

I think it's shocking that any roof would have such a short guarantee ! Thirty years is nothing, they should build it right in the first place.
Enough of my snorting... This is so beautiful, and the textures and pattern are very enjoyable.

Cool shot!!

WOW! It looks like am over 100 years old house/roof and I admire the roof for still staying there :-) Love this shot for the clarity and pattern of the roof. Beautifully done, Tara. Thank you so much for your sweet words in my gallery. It gives me a bit more confidence :-) Thank you, my friend

If it was any younger, it wouldn't have given me the same joy, simply by just looking at those amazing textures and making all sorts of little discoveries, by drooling over it again and again - I love this Tara,
Cheers BB

love the composition, using the top of the house as the frame for the roof. And giving us a piece of the roof "in medias res". We're plopped right in it. And the textures on the shingles are so grained, I swear they were painted there! Amazing how they stand out because of all that texture. That kind of pattern is the type of thing Warhol did, over and over---same basic shapes, with small variations. (Here's an example---don't be bothered that I'm comparing your photo with a painting of coke bottles, lol! The point is, he painted every one slightly differently, and put the liquid in, in every which manner...And those are painted, not photographed. It's much more fun than viewers often notice at first blush. Be sure to zoom it once: http://www.popandroll.com/coke-art/Coca-Cola-Art_Andy-Warhol_Green_Coca-Cola_Bottles.jpg)
A splendid capture, Tara, worked splendidly, and cropped splendidly too. I love the windows and facade as much, too.
