Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very colorful candies in the original version, which is delightful, but I really like this sepia treatment! Like a trip to to past. :)

The color version makes my mouth water; the sepia version feels like memory. Like it's from the 30's. And you got the long array of jars---and what an old fashioned sweet shop that is! Everything "in bulk" (as we call it in the States). We get to choose. I'd go nuts in that place---no pun intended, as he probably sells nuts. A sweet angle, as we fall into the back of the store. The repetition of the bottles is wonderful. (Tara would do something with this.) And a very sweet smile on the guy---it's a people pic too. Very nice, Andrea. We don't have sweet shops like this here.
(btw, we also don't have restaurants called "The King's Head". Definitely not a Chicago name...)

I like this Andrea and I think it's better than the coloured version !

Oooohh! That's a lovely lot of jars. I'd go crazy in there, taking pictures from every distance and every angle imaginable. (Mark knows me far too well.) I like your mono version so much better, because all that pink makes my head ache! I don't care much for sugary treats, preferring choc and nuts, and pink is somehow the color of Too Much Sugar. LOL! I would still take all those pictures, though. It's easy enough to change the color in Photoshop. :P Looks like nice people who run the shop, too. What fun!

Yummy I'm guessing for most, but unfortunately I have 0% sweet tooth.

We have these shops here but they are just nostalgia trips inside giant malls. But I still remember when they were the real thing. Nice vintage look to go with my vintage memory.

I like this sepia mood - the color version is very much color, glad that I don't have to stay for a whole day..;-)

We have a few of these shops but the sweets taste different to when I ate them as a kid.

To Mark: I used to frequent a tavern called "The King's Head" in Norfolk, Virginia, so we do indeed have things like that here, you just have to know where to find them! That said, I would absolutely love to wander close to all those jars and see what sorts of sweets you have in there; fascinating stuff, and a wonderful shot, colour and sepia both!

The color version is making my sweet tooth ache !
The sepia treatment has toned down the urge to run out and get me some ~
Both are lovely pics, thanks for sharing.
