My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

"PLEASE ... No More VANDALISM!" In a church! A sign of the times I guess. But back to how good I am. As soon as I saw this image I thought of the light coming through a window in a monk's cell. How close was that? If this is an example of what you saw I can understand why you spent 20 minutes there. A marvelous image. Love the tin walls.

I think this photo does a magnificent job of communicating the beauty and peace of this wonderful old church. I just love the light and feeling of tranquility you've captured here, Tara! I can feel the what you experienced through your vision and lens. Exquisite!

I've never heard of stamped tin, must look that up. I can see what kept you in there. An image of great stillness , which some might find suffocating.

Love this Tara. A great feeling of peace and a first class shot.

I like to find open doors, empty old rooms and with luck some perfect light... there is peace and calmness in this photo!

You are so good at noticing opportunities for detail and texture, color and light. I'm glad you found a wealth of opportunity there. Really lovely shot of this corner with beautiful light and shadow, Tara. :)

I believe that this is one of your best images. Thank you for the history of this shot.

I'll be back to your work another time in more depth, but this is just a halloween Hello---and with a beautiful inward capture. Beautiful light and shadow, nuanced to perfection, with that pink and gold in the window (yellow gold), and the spot of light on that old beautiful textured wall and lectern. So much shadow which gives real uplift to the light, which you bring out with loving, caressing hands. I gotta get you in touch with Rembrandt, I mean on an intimate basis. You have much say to each other. The light is warm and glowing, and the shadows deep and rich; and the detail really looks like the old church that it is. If this isn't a religious experience, I don't know what is...the original meaning of 'communion'. Beautiful work. Happy halloween, and I hope you guys are either at, or right near, home, and ready to settle in for the winter...

Very nice mood piece with some very subtle tonal variations...

That halo of pink at the top of the arch really speaks to me of the magic in there; beautifully captured, and I'm so jealous... :)

Very cool capture with the light coming through the window. I always like the play of light on objects.

Right by seeing the thumb I was delighted from what I discovered, and I didn't think it was taken in a church. But it does have the feel of a church; or, at least your photo gives this extraordinary peaceful character, and actually the exact opposite of anything from vandalism. This is all serene beauty, with a special gleam.

The atmosphere here is very still and contemplative. Superb
