Description

How's that for dappled lighting? Captured 4/12/15 @ 11:25 am, at the beautiful Descanso Gardens, in beautiful La Canada/Flintridge, California. And it was just as dry as it looks. Arrivederci.

boy, it's really rare when I get here before Denise! I feel like I'm early to a party---no one is home, but I'm in the living room sampling the wine...Well, this actually has some Denise in it, because it's got benches. But, unlike her lush vegetation, your shot really does show the effects of your drought. It's a dry and parched area. And yet the pic is lush, in the lighting and the detail. And yet, there's an almost 'zen emptiness' to it. And to have 3 benches lined up like that, and no one there? Not even a squirrel? That fits in with the drought. Love the textures of the shot, and the light, and its emptiness. Love this shot.

(I hope my long comments don't put anyone off, after me! Like, "who the hell does he think HE is!" Maybe there should be zooms for comments, like there are for images---you see a tiny comment, but when you zoom---boom! 2 pages...)

This looks like such a perfect place to sit with your friends and enjoy a pleasant afternoon. Very pretty dappled light image Harry.

It is dappled upon the dapples, and looks dry enough to go up in flames if you touch it with a warm finger, Harry; hopefully your drought and high temperatures will have some easing soon. Beautiful capture of these welcoming benches!
