This brings back memories of my Boy Scout days.... We'd take a handful of these berries and toss them into the campfire - they would make a sound like popcorn! :-D Very cool shot!

They look very much like the seed pods on the two cedar trees just outside my front door. But mine are larger and more angular. This must be a different species. Nice shot Richard.
