there was a lot of fog and off an on mist making picture taking a challenge

I always felt fog was one of nature's photoshop filters, and when it's 'on', it does what the hell it wants, and ain't nothin' we can do to change it...but the very way it leeches intensity, gives colors a ghost appearance, coats everything in a veil---is truly special, and you caught all of them at their best. The autumn hues are here, but they're muted, quieted; and the sky is like the world's half asleep. And that line across the water---with the red 'bobs' (I don't know what they're called, lol)---it's a great touch for the bottom of the shot: It "cuts through the mix"; and, being tiny, it looks like a necklace for the river. Wonderful moody pic, perfect fog shot.
