Description

I'm not quite sure if this is indeed a statue or if this is what happens when a minotaur loses a staring match with a gorgon. Post-processing in Lo-Fi. Enjoy

Nicely done. I think if you tile the texture a bit more, it will look sharper.

Great pose and I love the texture exactly as it stands, no disrespect to Rajib.

Wow this is really fantastic. The materials just add so much. At first I thought it was a photo of a piece of art. Really a fine and interesting render. So very well done.

yea, i gotta agree - the texture is fabo as is... what i personally like is his right hoof coming up off the floor as it makes me wonder if it is the second before the plaster cracks and he springs into all his menacing glory... he really is just kinda pretty, imo

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts and comments. In this case, a bit of a debate. I wanted a statue that could have looked like the minotaur was facing the wrong side of Medusa at some point. To me, a rougher look would have been most appropriate as most bulls I've seen aren't very smooth creatures, so I applied a shader that would achieve that. I always envisioned Medusa's victims as being literally turned to stone, and thought that a smoother surface might look more like marble. Even though that would be an attractive render in its own right.

Plus, I always thought that roughly textured sculpture looks pretty cool. So that explains this weird little render if it doesn't answer the question of whether this is a real statue or an artifact courtesy of Medusa.
