Bill mentioned you were a master of post work. If so I love what you've done with this. A city of steel and glass reflected in the river which looks like it is made of steel and glass. Love the composition where the white, white sky is balanced out by the dark on the left side, especially the pillar (?) that anchors that side.

So cleverly done, Mark, but I'm afraid those buildings oppress me instantly.

Well, I had my feelings, that you were born to do this. I was right. I adore this piece. I couldnt help saying this. Just ignore me. I am not even here yet. :-P

Wonderful cityscape, Mark. The light, as in many of your photos, is very intense - almost, but not quite to the point of being too blindingly bright - yet somehow you pull it off & manage to make it work. I particularly like the contrast of the old style bridge with the modern geometrically rigid buildings & the warm orange reflections in both the cylindrical object (building? column?) in the foreground & the large building that I see as the focal point of this composition...

Beautiful and surreal colors in this image, Mark. I can't even imagine a 2MP camera, these days, so this quality is impressive!

Love the high key feeling, and the colours -- such a rich range in subtle between-the-colours colours....it sings! Wonderful work!

Still, it's a lovely photo, Mark!

Amazing how the technology has advanced.... My first digital camera took a 640 X 480 photo, and stored it on a 3.5 inch floppy disc that would hold an amazing 1.4 MB! Now, your cellphone takes 6MP photos, and for less than 1000 bucks you can get cameras that fly. I can't begin to imagine what the next 5 years will bring...

Oh, I know just where you were standing, with the DuSable (Michigan Ave) bridge ahead and the corn cobs behind you. The Chicago River is a wealth of wonderful shots just waiting to happen, isn't it? This is fabulous! I love the fire on that glass building. Doesn't matter how many mp you've got ... you're a natural at photography!
