Description
Not exactly Hendesse November moody forest stuff, but this is about the best I could get with the bright sun and drought.
Captured 4/12/15 @ 11:15 am, at the beautiful Descanso Gardens, in beautiful La Canada/Flintridge, California.
And, of course, you all remember the song, Happy Trails, released in 1952, written by Dale Evans, the wife of Roy Rogers.

Great composition that seems to put me as the viewer right in the thick of it & trying to decide which trail to take. I do remember the song, but my favorite version of it was by Quicksilver Messenger Service in the '60's...

claude got it; your shot offers many choices...and yes, this is a dry forest area, one can see the effects of drought everywhere. But you've become very attuned to those effects, and you've presented a number of images that make drought 'sing', visually. The dryness in this shot produces a pale beige for your shot, and the grasses look full but scruffy, which gives it a rough-hewn feel. And those shadows create all kinds of paint-strokes across the ground. And because you cropped out the sky, we're right in the thick of it---just the right crop. A full, dry, and complex beauty. You worked with what nature gave you, and you made a very musical image.

Yes, this is a surprisingly lovely scene; (surprising only because of the drought, but there's still enough green to offset the dry beiges) and those beautifully intertwined branch shadows infuse the paths with magic. Beautifully done, Harry!

Beautiful place and capture, Harry, and your title suits perfectly. I expect to see Roy and Dale appear on horseback from behind the bushes at any moment. Nicely done.
