Description
Traffic....what traffic?
Captured 11/10/15 @ 9:17 am, adjacent to my vast condominium complex.
Original on top.
It's like this virtually every business day around that same time.

4 variations in black and white! You scoured the graphic design world for this...the first is such a surprise to me: It's a big line of traffic, yes, but somehow it feels relaxed. Don't ask me why. It has to do with the space on the other side of the road. (Cars in back may be waiting for the light, leaving that side blank; but it's still empty.) And also the bright morning sun which bathes everything and leaves rich flares. Also, no one on the sidewalk...it really feels laid back to me. 2 plunges us into an etched and dirty world, like an etching plate hadn't been cleaned in a while. A real 'grunge' version, very intense. 3 feels like a 'threshold' version, w/ lots of whites, and 2 or 3 grays and blacks. Maybe 4 tones at the most (thus 'threshold'). A strong minimalization of the original. Four has been overtaken either by animal stripes or camouflage: Fascinating way of breaking up the surfaces---i think there's a different set of strokes for each plane. (I've never seen a treatment like that! It would hide a tiger beautifully.) And 5 is your true 'minimal' version: where the deepest darks are totally white, and you have subtle squiggles and lines. To me, it looks like old architectural renderings, before CAD and computers took over---real pen and pencil stuff; and it's my personal favorite of the bunch, because that's how I began drawing...But you got real variety in all the variations, and black and white really brings out your style. A very creative group, Harry. (And once again---to your note that the original's on top: If the original weren't on top, we'd be in major trouble...) Very inventive, Harry.

Add some rain and wind-lashed trees surrounded by surging waves and you've got my commute today; the filter I'd like to see on it is a nuclear blast! But lacking that, you've done some really marvelous work here; I think the last is my favourite effect. Beautifully done, my friend!

Your photoshop, or whatever you are using, certainly has more creative filters than my PSP. Nice work Harry!

Fun to try different filters.
