Nifty scene. When I was a kid it was a big thrill to see the afternoon flight - it was a DC-3 come in and land at the local airport.

Great scene, but you can't have Metropolis without the Last Son (or Daughter) of Krypton around to pick up the slack from Air Traffic Control and the Coast Guard. ;)
