And… for a while again:) ! ...I look like a BROKEN RECORD!! always promising ... but it is because i'm 'positive' and i hope that i am able to be here soon...... Today, here, just to offer to you all, this rose, as a signal of my deepest gratitude for all your love and your nice words. You have been always ready to be with me, anytime that I put the ‘nose’ out:) This rose is from the backyard of the building where I live. It is old Lisbon. The newest buildings (not all of course… only have big windows to the road or to the neighbors(:))!!!), and the most part, nor even balconies, sadly! And i never saw common back yards, to reach out, with stairs through a rear door in the kitchen. But almost all the old buildings have this space for all the neighbors; Strangely, nowadays, few are those that use it,,,well, I DO:) It is where I got my first deep breathing in the early morning (even when i had job, i always did the same) listening to the birds that come to switch with those that were in the trees during the night:) and is fabulous how they do ‘’bla-bla-bla’’ between them! I wonder what they are sharing, lol:) . Many times I have here my first coffee even if it is raining. I love a lot to catch up with the rain in the face, if it is the case…and it is also where I used to have the first running with my dog to stretch her legs and mine:) this, it is no possible anymore, because she had to leave. I think that many of you know this.. but, i am not the unique that had this sadness, i am very aware of this and i know well, HOW HARD it is to lose their so special LOVE! Again, thank you so much for being here with me and this photo is from my cell phone and taken with left hand ... I'm not left-handed, but I had to learn to use both hands in my work. So, I did the best I could... Wish you a joyful Sunday and a very good week, almost in winter... Peace and love to all ,ana

it's so good to see you here, and I love the comments above---from 2 fine photographers. This is outstanding for a cell phone; and I too hope you can return sooner; and I loved calico-jester's "a rose among thorns seems natural to your tender touch" (and "also by a passing stranger...") Someone from far away who understands...

You captured the soft sensual feeling of the rose, and its gentle curves, and its 'burst'---those outer petals are so sharp, and they burst out into the world. And your pov is that long protected courtyard that you wrote about. Of course, I've seen pictures of this place many times (from you), but your story above was beautiful---how this place has brought you peace so many times over the years. (A peace you so deserved.) And how, even now, with Maré gone so soon, it still brings you peace. I know that Maré spent so much time here, "guarding" you, looking after you, protecting you, and just simply loving you. I've seen the pictures where she looked up at you to be sure you were there, and to be sure you were happy. So it's very touching that you made this image here. It's a beautiful place; I always thought so, and always will.

I'm so glad you could come here! I know how hard it is for you to be here, and you have our blessings no matter what you do. But you came here to give us your love and best wishes; and that's grand, Ana. Thank you! I send my love and wishes to you too, and hope that light and beauty walk with you always...you deserve it. What a happy day it is to see you posting, dear Ana. And your little morning story is very touching. I know how hard it was for you to say good bye to little Maré, but she will always be alive in your heart. I am with Mark in ALL he said. Could´nt say it better myself. It is always a good day when you are posting, dear Sis. :))) Thank you for your beautiful beautiful rose and just as beautiful words and good wishes. Warm Hugs and love... I will soon be back in RR, for as long as I can manege :)

It is so nice to make your acquaintance with this most beautiful Rose, I haven't seen one in a long time. Thank you for that lovely present, how kind of you ... I could almost imagine a beautiful perfume wafting across the oceans between us ... (here on the North-East Coast of Australia, where I live, and with a lot of humidity, it would be very difficult to grow one like that) A little space surrounded by nature is always a bonus; you would like it , where we live here in the Subtropics, with plenty of bird life and lots of trees, flowers - you name it, we've got it - not to mention the 'nasty' insects and weeds galore ;)) I wish you well - very soon !
