While in college (early 70s) I had as one of my teachers, Mel Ramos (check out his work!) Hid semi-nude model coming out of a giant half-pealed banana was and still is his signature piece of art. He did all his work in oils not airbrush like many people thought. They are also really large. If you ever get a chance to see his work in person "DO IT"!!! You will not be disappointed.

Two years ago I saw on TV a movie about Mel Ramos. This has inspired me, no doubt. I'll make a few more pictures from this genre. But I already know ... I can not hold a candle to him. You can be lucky to have had such a teacher.
