you really have a broad range of artistic expression...I remember your large array of stunning historical pieces, incl your montages of Soviet culture and history; and your microbiological pieces, with microbial structures galore, and some stuff straight out of electron microscopes; and your architectural fantasies; and geological fantasies; and so on...all done with equal commitment, seriousness, diligence and grand play...And then there your fractals. This has a classic moorish feel to it, the types of designs that the classical islamic designers made in their golden age, primarily in the geometric and multi-pointed star configurations that one sees in Southern Spain and such. And your star-like forms are laid against a flat surface, like a 3 dimensional brocade. But then you created these huge tentacles---in the center---like wires on an old switchboard, or wires attached to the fractal-motherboard of your piece. They flow in a singular direction from lower to higher--and in yellows, to contrast your peach-rust tones, your blues and yellows, etc. Gorgeous, Mandi. You must need managers to keep the many areas of your brain in some semblance of order; managing all this imagery and symbol must be exhausting! Your mental file cabinets must be packed to the gills, and you probably have so many of them, you have to cordon them off to make room for normal things like breathing, talking, etc. A wonderfully inventive and very intricate image. I love the "ground" of your image. If that's a motherboard, I'll take 100.
