Description

Finished and passed another Diploma assignment, a 14 second logo animation in 3ds Max, but I had created the proxy animation in After Effects in the previous assignment and then had to try to recreate similar effect in Max for the final. Well, I can tell you that was fun...NOT!, Max fought me all the way, especially the pFlow (smoke particles), volume light and volume fog all rendered in Mental Ray, eventually found work arounds for all the issues and learned a couple of new tricks. This scene is based on some of the techniques I learned and worked out for myself...and no help from my tutor ! ha-ha The creature model (I just made the 'Iggle' name up for fun !) was modelled by Ivan Ramadan (ivan_ramadan@hotmail.com) 2002 and didn't have a name. Those little suckers or Iggle's really come to live here, because of the POV you created - it makes all the difference ;))

I have heard all about MAX and those endless and mindless ways of making something simple - difficult - most of the time, alas - that is, what is expected of you [to study] - go figure ? so it's back to the drawing board of course, most of the time !!! what a time waste, IMHO - but you are getting there OK
