Description

Hello! I am back. Have missed being here, so ill try to see how it works now :) Got the idea of this drawing technic from Barry Toshio Shiraishi on Youtube. I actually like it. I painted it over with water, to give it more depth. Have a beautiful day / evening. It is pretty cold and it has been raining most of the day. Dark and boring weather actually. Thank you for viewing. :)

zoom's really important to see your line work: I take it this style has to do with free circular lines to define a shape? And free shading as well? It's a very jazzy drawing, Helle, the shapes are wholly defined but with a style that imbues the objects with energies that want to get up and dance. The lines even flow into the open surfaces---whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. And you ran water over it---I assume with a brush? Well what you did was give it a wash background, which, yes, gives it depth and contrasts. I assume you used pencil? Maybe inks, but it looks more like graphite. I love the freedom of it, the spill-overs and whooshing lines---and you massed all your objects into a kind of 'peak', with the high point on the right top. A group photo in a cramped space! Very energetic. Great to see you back with this. i'll have to check out the videos, I'm really curious what Barry Toshio Shiraishi was talking about...

Very nice whoosh effects in this still life image, Helle, plus the cool frame surrounding it. We got a teeny weeny bit of rain last night, and it was nice and cool today for a change. Hope your eyes are better. Oh, and what Mark said.

You really nailed this; I love this technique, although I've never been able to make it work for me. I think I'm too distracted to be a good drawing artist, maybe that's why I love photography so much. Wonderful work, Helle, and welcome back!

Ah, welcome back, dear friend! And this is a very pretty and lively technique, I guess you can just let your hand playing around, very impressive, right? Anyway I love this style as the result, Helle.

LOVE that loose style! It jumps off the page at me with way more energy than a typical still life. It seems to suit you. :)
